Od wczoraj męczę się z komunikatem:

kernel panic not syncing vfs unable to mount root fs on unknown-block
Z GRUB-em normalnie się uruchamia, gdyż udało mi się przed chwilą go wgrać usuwając przy tym LILO.
Od razu tłumaczę dlaczego potrzebne mi LILO - ponieważ start systemu trwa około 2 minut przez mój napęd DVD (jest on sprawny, ale powoduje powolne uruchamianie dowolnego systemu), a LILO posiada opcję COMPACT, która skraca ten proces do kilku sekund.
Domyślne ustawienia /etc/lilo.conf, na którym pojawia się komunikat błędu.
