[+] konsola - brak możliwo

Witam!

Zainstalowałem Debiana Etch na laptopie Thinkpad R61i. Poprzednio instalowałem i użytkowałem od pewnego czasu Debiana na stacjonarnym. No i pojawia się problem. Początkowo próbowałem zainstalować tylko to co niezbędne i później dograć sobie GNOME. Niestety - system ładnie się zainstalował, skonfigurowałem neostradę, zmieniłem wpisy w sources.list ale

sudo apt-get install gnome

wypisuje błędy typu gnome-desktop-environment jest potrzebny ale nie będzie instalowany. Próbowałem dopisywać to o czym informuje konsola, aż w końcu stwierdził że gdm jest niezgodny z gnome-session i dalej nie wiedziałem co zrobić. Postanowiłem więc zainstalować Debiana od razu z GNOME. Wszystko przebiegło dobrze, gnome działa, ale gdy chcę przejść do konsoli (Ctrl+Alt+F1...6) to ekran zanika - coś jak Out Of Range na zwykłych monitorach. Komputer na pewno się nie zwiesza itp. gdyż przy wyłączaniu przechodzi też w tą konsolę, ekran też zanika, ale komputer się wyłącza. Nie wiem już co robić. Podejrzewam, że są jakieś problemy z kartą graficzną (Intel X3100), ale na PC wszystko działało z palca, a sterowniki dogrywałem, by proste gierki typu TuxRacer działały w miarę.

Czy coś może być z tym nie tak? (R61i na pewno obsługuje 1280x800 - ekran panoramiczny). Dodam, że podczas uruchamiania (zanim odpali się gdm) konsola działa ok (widać "przelatujące" komunikaty), potem odpala się gdm i przez jakąś sekundę/dwie widzę pasy takie rozmazane (ciężko to określić), po prostu jakiś błąd, następnie przestawia się i leci OK.

Proszę o pomoc.

problem rozwiązał się sam. Po aktualizacji do wersji niestabilnej. Są tam co prawda drobne inne niedogodności, ale jakoś sobie poradzę.
