Lenny i sterowniki Nvidia

Proszę o sposób instalacji sterowników Nvidia (aktualna wersja) na Debianie testing.
Ustawiłem odpowiednią wersję GCC, jednak po instalacji sterownika i rekonfiguracji X.org obraz pozostaje czarny.

Dopiero zaczynam przygodę z Debianem i nie jestem pewien czy Lenny będzie dobrym wyborem.

xorga zmieniles po zainstalowaniu streow ?

Sterownik sam zaproponował rekonfigurację xorg.conf, jednak efekt był taki jak pisałem.
Jedynym możliwym panaceum na sytuację było odpalenie systemu w trybie single user i wyedytowanie /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Moduł nvidia zamieniłem na nv i mam chociaż jakikolwiek obraz :)

Najpierw doinstaluj czcionki jako root:

Zrestartuj system.

Jeżeli to nie zadziała. Zrób kopię pliku xorg.conf i zmień w nim wszystkie podobne linie na takie jak poniżej.

Szkoda, że nie potrafię sprawdzić wersji sterownika, nie mam też żadnego konfiguratora w Aplikacje->Narzędzia systemowe (GNOME), dlatego poprosiłbym o dalsze wskazówki w temacie :)

W terminalu wydałem polecenie: nvidia-settings ...no i pełna jasność

NVidia panel włącza się tak ( jeżeli o to chodzi ? ):

konsola > "nvidia-settings" - jako normalny użytkownik

Mi też się tak działo . Przy instalacji pokazywało że nie może znaleść ścieżek ale udawało się dokończyć instalację . Brakowału mu "xorg-dev"

PS Sorki że odkopuję ale tutorial można byłoby zaktualizować a pozatym chciałem się pochwalić :-P
